Maddie gets a 9-1-1 call from a young girl whose mom is a victim of domestic battery. Her mom is in trouble after the dad found them. Maddie worries if the mom will make it but the police arrive in time to save the child and rush the mom to the hospital. Maddie visits the victim at the hospital and offers her help.
Every season it feels like Buck is looking for growth and understanding. That's kind of his M.O. at this point, and that's not even a knock on him because it's true to life. He's a man entering a new phase of his life, learning about himself and figuring out what he likes and what he doesn't like.
Breaking off a relationship and choosing himself was a big step in the right direction for him at the end of last season, and so far this season, he's been on a journey to discover what he wants out of life.
Karen's ultimatum to Hen during 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 2 appears to be forgotten here because, after the drunken Buck hangout, Hen decides that she's not ready to give up on her dream just yet, which is commendable, but what about talking it over with Karen first?
Back at dispatch and happy with Chimney, we haven't gotten a ton of Maddie this season, but her story here was personal when she got a call from a terrified little girl in the middle of a frightening ordeal.
Eddie's instinct is to protect Christopher, like any good father. But he has to realize that protecting doesn't mean coddling. And I love that they're following through with Eddie's arc from the end of 9-1-1 Season 5 and having Eddie reach out to his father for advice.

In 9-1-1's Winter finale, the breaking point is more about the people our first responders serve than them. Thus giving us an episode that lacks the drama for anything with the word "finale" associated with it.
Creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with 9-1-1, exploring the high-pressure experiences of police officers, firefighters, and dispatchers who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
The 4th spoiler scoop reveals that Eddie will have a not-so-pleasant interaction with Christopher in this episode. Apparently, Christopher is going to serve up a lie to Eddie, and Eddie is going to catch it.

Early in 9-1-1 season 5, Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney (Kenneth Choi) left their home and friends in Los Angeles, taking an extended break before returning nine episodes later no longer a couple. Maddie's last prior appearance was in season 5, episode 3, "Desperate Measures," with Chimney leaving to find her in episode 4, "Home and Away." While there were production reasons for the break, namely Jennifer Love Hewitt's own pregnancy, the in-universe 9-1-1 storyline to justify it ended up being one of its most realistic plot arcs- an honest portrayal of postpartum depression.
Maddie has had a hard journey since she replaced Connie Britton's Abby in 9-1-1 season 2. She had survived domestic abuse and a violent encounter with her ex. Her relationship with Chimney developed slowly as she gradually grew to trust him. After giving birth to their daughter Jee-Yun at the end of season 4, Maddie began experiencing post-partum depression. This continued into season 5, resulting in her leaving her daughter at the firehouse with a video message for Chimney. In the next episode, after learning why she left, Chimney took Jee-Yun and went to find her. They reunited in episode 12, "Boston". However, despite Chimney's best efforts, Maddie was clearly not in a place where she could start a family with him as they'd planned. While Chimney managed to convince Maddie to return to LA, she still had too much to work through before they could rekindle their romance.
An interview with executive producer Tim Minear in May 2021 suggested that there's more to Maddie's story: "It's a story that I don't want to give short shrift to. It will end up creating a major complication for Season 5" [via TVline]. The 9-1-1 season 5 complication he referred to could be Maddie's departure, but if the storyline remains prominent, there's doubtless more to Maddie's arc now that she's returned. Both Kenneth Choi and Jennifer Love Hewitt were still credited as 9-1-1 main cast members throughout Maddie and Chimney's absence, so the chances that either would be written out permanently were always slim. After investing in Maddie and Chimney's struggles bringing Jee-Yun into the world, 9-1-1 audiences would most likely find either of them being written out incredibly frustrating. 041b061a72
